About the project
The project tells the story of a high school graduate who gets caught up in a race against time on exam day. Standing in a traffic jam, he decides to change his mode of transport and sets off for his matriculation by train. During this journey, he encounters a series of non-obvious situations five stories that take place in the limited space of the train carriage and build up the tension of the whole story. The realisation was a major production challenge. We worked in the cramped interiors of the train, which in reality remained static, so movement was created with light. We built a lighting system based on DMX-controlled LED lights that fluently changed the intensity and direction of the light, simulating the passage and rhythm of the passing infrastructure. One of the more challenging elements was also the set design to create a believable library space inside the wagon. For the opening scenes, we also closed off the street in front of the station, building a traffic jam as the starting point of the story. Karolina Fronik was the director and Przemysław Jękosz was responsible for the cinematography. The result is a project in which a narrative based on time and space meets precise, technical execution.
